Aroldo Vivian Laurie Luengo nació el 12 de julio de 1944 en Talca. Realizó sus estudios en el Liceo de Hombres de la misma ciudad. Trabajaba como vendedor y militaba en el MIR. El 28 de julio de 1974, a los 30 años, fue detenido por Carabineros de Chile en la ciudad de Parral junto a Hernán Sarmiento Sábater. Ambos permanecen desaparecidos.
