Francisco Javier Fuentealba Fuentealba nació el 3 de octubre de 1947 en La Serena. Realizó sus estudios secundarios en el Liceo Salesiano Domingo Savio y posteriormente trabajó en la joyería “El Platinal” ubicada en calle Santo Domingo, Santiago Centro. Militante del MIR, integró el Grupo Político Militar 1, estructura territorial que abarcaba las comunas La Granja, San Miguel y San Bernardo. El 13 de julio de 1974, a los 26 años, fue detenido por efectivos de la DINA junto a su compañero de trabajo y militancia Artemio Segundo Gutiérrez Ávila. Un año más tarde, en julio de 1975, su nombre apareció en la lista de los 119.
Se encuentra desaparecido.
